Lead PHP Developer

The Role

Your role will involve the design and set up/scaffolding of new projects for the development team members to collaborate on. You may be given responsibly for code deployments and releases to live customer applications. You will be building on new and existing projects, as well as in-house software and toolsets/libraries for re-use across projects. You will be involved in talking to in-house and client stakeholders, so good communication skills for an array of technical and non-technical audiences is a must.

A friendly and good team worker would fit well into the team. Ideal candidates will manage their own time effectively and be able to work on their own work and projects with little supervision. Successful candidates will have a good problem solving mind and a drive to ever improve their work and themselves. You will be responsible for the testing and re-usability of your own code and may be asked to review other's code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing architecture for new and existing software systems.
  • Implementing own or other's architecture designs.
  • Improving current code base and scrutinising approaches.
  • Research solutions and help introduce new technology when appropriate.
  • Managing current API integrations and improving their performance.
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders in Agile/SCRUM meetings.

Required Experience

  • 3+ year's commercial experience

  • Object Oriented PHP (preferably 7.0+)
  • Advanced Programming Design Patterns
  • Composer
  • MVC Frameworks (Laravel 5.5+)
  • ORM and Database Abstraction
  • PHPUnit
  • Modern JavaScript/ECMA Script - Vue2 (or similar)
